A Day in My Life
I sleep in a bassinet in Mom and Papa's room [right]. I
like to be swaddled tightly because if I'm not, my hands hit me and wake
me up.
I talk in my sleep, sometimes very loudly,
especially before I'm ready to wake up. Then I s-t-r-e-t-c-h and
s-t-r-e-t-c-h and talk and talk. I think Mom and Papa have learned to tune
that out until my tone of voice becomes urgent. |

As soon as I wake up, I need to eat. I
think I can safely say that I've mastered that skill. Mom and I spend lots
of time together while I'm eating. We call her "the milk
bar."
After I'm done eating, I like a good burp. In
fact, my favorite position is draped on Mom or Papa's shoulder [left]. Of
course, eating is also followed by a diaper change, but we won't go into
that. |
After a good meal, I might get a baby massage
[right]. Oooh, that feels good!
Other options include sitting in my bouncy chair and
watching Mom and Papa eat (apparently they like to eat, too), rocking in
my swing, or laying on the floor on a play mat. I don't do much yet but
look at things, but if I'm on my stomach I might try to lift and turn my
head. Then again, I might not. |

Oops, time for a quick nap!
I don't have a regular sleep schedule yet; sometimes I'm
awake most of the day, sometimes I sleep a lot. I usually go to bed for
the night some time between 10:30 and midnight, wake up once in the middle
of the night, and then get up again between 6:00 and 7:30. Recently I have
slept 5 hours during the night—that seems to make my parents very
happy! |
Sometimes I get dressed up to go out [at
right, Valentine's Day]. Typical outings include Safeway, Bartell
Drugs, and doctors' appointments. I've also been to Babies R Us and
Target. I mostly sleep through these errands.
We also attend a weekly parent/baby group
at Evergreen Hospital. Lots of other babies come to that, and when they
all start crying at once, it's quite a cacophony!
Mom and Papa also take me for walks around
the neighborhood in my stroller. I know I should be enjoying the
scenery, but I usually choose to take a nap. |

I like to play with my big brother, Cameron
[left]. Every day when he gets home from school he comes right upstairs to
say hello. He's good at rocking me in the glider chair, reading to me, and
dancing with me around the house. When I'm on my play mat he lays on the
floor with me. I think he's pretty special. |
After the day's activity, it's good to get a
little spa treatment.
Aaaaah....... this place is better than The Green Door.

Whew! For someone so little, I have a
lot of work to do. It's exhausting! |
